Senior Director, Operations - - Classe 12 (G7)

Status : Permanent, Full Time, New Hire


CHALLENGES WE OFFER

The Senior Director, Operations will be responsible for Canada-wide strategy deployment for operations in the Animal production sector. Your tasks will be to ensure consistency of practices, sustainability of assets, and participate in the synergy of a matrix organization that includes assets held directly by Animal production, their partners, and the network of co-operatives. You will ensure the production of high-quality products for our customers by being directly responsible for a team of 300 employees distributed in the departments of formulation and quality, engineering, animal feed plants (feed mill, micro plant), and poultry operations (hatcheries, breeding farms, egg production farms, and meat production farms.)

Your mandate mainly consists of the following:

  • Develop and implement a long-term operational strategy to ensure the performance and sustainability of our assets;
  • Develop and deploy standards of operation (SOP) and continuous improvement at the national level to promote the performance of our assets and increase employee safety;
  • Evaluate and monitor key performance indicators (KPI);
  • Manage and monitor the budget of all assets;
  • Issue recommendations and participate in major investment choices;
  • Develop solid business relations and negotiate with our partners, as needed, to ensure the long-term profitability of sector operations;
  • Manage teams of both unionized and non-unionized employees;
  • Issue regular reports internally, to management, externally, to regulatory agencies, as needed;
  • Actively monitor the regulatory developments related to the sector of activity.

This position requires occasional trips to various production sites currently located from the Maritimes to Alberta.

  

YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING PROFILE

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field;
  • Higher education (MBA or M. Sc.) is a strong asset;
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in middle to senior management positions;
  • You have strong strategical and tactical skills;
  • You have management experience in a very customer-focused operational environment, as well as in managing multidisciplinary teams at various levels;
  • You are a mobilizing leader, a skilled communicator, and you are known for your excellent adaptability;
  • You are an agent of change able to support your teams throughout the company’s evolution;
  • You have knowledge in finance and accounting, notably in costs and budget management, as well as in financial planning;
  • You have excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written.
