In Ontario, a dedicated grain team works hand in hand with farmers to serve the industrial, local and international markets. This involves global export via multiple partnerships, access to a team of experts for local farmers and diverse contracting options over many delivery points. Logistics Coordinator   - Classe 4 (T2)

 

Work location: London, Ontario


Status: Permanent, Full Time, New Hire


CHALLENGES WE OFFER

The successful candidate will be responsible to provide best in class logistics and customer service for the execution of all domestic contracts from/to internal and external suppliers/customer at the minimum cost and with the maximum effectiveness.

This involves dealing with the commercial team and trade-administration to ensure that contracts are correctly applied.

The position requires the handling, management and/or supervision for the tasks described below:

  • Execute domestic contracts made by the trading group. This includes dealing with suppliers, transporters, customers and internal teams to ensure that the contracts are executed as agreed by the parties;
  • Provide supplier & customer service by meeting delivery requirements and by addressing concerns and requests for information;
  • Negotiate truck or rail freight rates and arbitrage geographic points to maximize profitability;
  • Schedule purchase contracts into the grain elevators and end users;
  • Analyze open purchase contract balances, daily;
  • Maintain contact with internal and external customers to determine delivery requirements;
  • Coordinate with suppliers the delivery of grain as required;
  • Hire truckers to transport the grain as required;
  • Generate internal weekly activity reports;
  • Coordinate with the trading and merchant groups on daily basis.

 

 


YOU FIT THE FOLLOWING PROFILE

  • You have a College or University diploma in a Business/logistics related field;
  • You have minimum 1year experience in logistics and/or grain-trade administration;
  • You work effectively under definite time constraints with peak workloads;
  • You are detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills;
  • You work effectively with team mates locally and across the globe;
  • You are capable of working responsibly with minimal supervision;
  • You have knowledge of Incorterms, CGC and NGFA rules;
  • You have knowledge of smartsoft, an asset.
